Marc Scarduffa has a proven track record in driving government relations and public affairs platforms with an expertise in political engagement and issue advocacy campaigns. Marc spent 22 years at Pfizer, working with business unit leadership to drive public policy priorities at the state and federal level.

Marc founded Avanti Forward Thinking Government Relations & Public Affairs in November 2020 to help clients better engage and win on their public policy challenges.

Marc served as vice president of U.S. Government Relations & Public Affairs at Pfizer where key responsibilities included: Managing their $3.3+ million PAC and all political communications/outreach initiatives; launching and directing “best in industry” grassroots advocacy programs; working with the government relations team to implement strategies that leveraged Pfizer’s political resources in support of policy objectives and strategic business imperatives.

To best align Government Relations functions across both federal and state issues and business unit priorities, Marc managed the Alliance Development, Advocacy & Professional Relations (think tanks/key opinion leaders) and Public Affairs teams. As chief of staff, Marc managed budget and operations for the U.S. Government Relations & Public Affairs team and helped lead the implementation of Pfizer’s engagement on priority federal and state issues.

Marc served as the PAC Director and Deputy Director of Incumbent Retention at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) under Congressmen Bill Paxon (R-NY).  Marc was a lobbyist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and legislative assistant and campaign manager to former Congressman Bill Green (R-NY).  Marc also did advance work for Senator Bob Dole’s presidential campaign.

Marc served as chairman of the Public Affairs Council Board of Directors (2017-2018); chair of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAMs) Public Affairs Steering Committee (2014-2016); was an active member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee (2000-2019); was a member of the Conference Board’s Government Relations Executives Council (2015-2019); served on the National Association of Business Political Action Committees (NABPAC) Board of Directors (2012-2014), and today is an active member of the Pet Partners Board of Directors (2018-2022).

Marc is a graduate of Drew University with a BA in Political Science and American History. He is fluent in Italian and conversational in Spanish.
