Public Affairs Council research shows public distrust of elected officials is high, and that sentiment is shared by many in business. At a time when stakeholders expect corporate America to help solve social issues, companies have joined efforts to improve U.S. civic engagement and protect democratic institutions — and for good reason.
Overall U.S. opinion toward democracy continues to decline, particularly among younger generations. These trends are harmful to our country’s social cohesion and our economic competitiveness.
In this session, Sarah Bonk and Nancy Bocskor of Business for America will share strategies for businesses to promote civic health in America, including employee and community engagement, workforce education, and policy advocacy.
